Over 700 suspected drug users, peddlers voluntarily surrendered in Quezon City

Over 700 of suspected drug users and peddlers voluntarily surrendered in Camp Karingal.

"Drug users have seven days to surrender before the city government will launch an all out war on illegal drugs," said Mayor Helbert Bautista.

The government of Quezon city will give a second chance to those drug victims, providing them rehabilitation and as well as the basic needs of their families.

The government of Quezon City will offer jobs and alternative education programs by TESDA. 

Sr. Supt. Joselito Esquivel said, those drug users and peddlers who surrendered would be given amnesty and assistance for rehabilitation. 

Oplan KAPAK was patterned after the succesful community-based anti-illegal drug campaign of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City.

The operations also strengthens the intelligence of the local police in tracing the sources of the illegal drug trade, Esquivel said.
