Finally the City of Bacolod approved on the ordinance setting the fourth Saturday and Sunday of October as the permanent schedule of the highlights of Masskara Festival.

 Fifteen barangays and 11 schools are joining the 2017 Masskara Festival street and arena dance competitions on October 21 and 22. Barangay Granada is no longer competing after bagging a three-peat in 2016.

Here's the preliminary schedule for the Masskara Festival 2017:

The 2016 Bacolod Masskara Festival perhaps the longest festival celebration held on October 1-23, 2016. One thing for sure that goers may enjoy, major activities of the festival will be for free. On Lacson streets, spaces will be free of charge, except for the space in front of Capitol Lagoon, which is going to be for corporate alley. Spaces in front of the Lacson St. buildings will be controlled by the building owners, and operators will pay only for permits which is for garbage and security.
