Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano said SMC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang announced the additional investment is for the establishment of several plants that include a packaging plant, chicken nuggets and hotdogs plant, and plant for their bottled water products.
Due to the company's effort as environmentally friendly and sustainable business model, San Miguel announced it is discontinuing its plastic bottled water line.
"The plastic bottled water business has given us good returns, but we are choosing to forego it in favor of our long-term sustainability goals," Ang said.
San Miguel Brewery Inc. has earlier started the construction of its new brewery in Tagoloan town which will start its operation by next year.
The mega projects in Misamis Oriental will surely benefit thousands of Misamis people as the company will be hiring more workforce in a couple of years.
