NASA offers sending your name to Mars, Register now!

This is just a one in a life time experience that you would tell your grand childrens, family and friends that you have sending your name to Mars.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is offering a significant flight to red planet, it will carrying hundreds of thousands of names from members of the public around the world.

As of the posting time 1,245,832 names have already been registered and 18,126 names from the Philippines. NASA will be accepting the names to register until November 1. All registered names will be saved in a chip that will be placed in Insight Lander Deck. Names are being registered here: https://mars.nasa.gov/participate/send-your-name/insight/

The Insight (Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigation, Geodesy and Heat Transport) Lander will be launched through Atlas V 401 on May 5, 218 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

Participants in the fly-your-name opportunity receive frequent flier points that reflect their participants in NASA's exploration program on Mars. Individuals who submitted their names during the earlier Insight opportunity in 2015 can download a boarding pass and see their frequent flier miles.

NASA said that InSight mission is more than a Mars mision - it is a terrestrial planet explorer that will address one of the most fundamental issues of planetary and solar system science - understanding the processes that shaped the rocky planets of the iner solar system (including Earth) more than four billion years ago.

“By using sophisticated geophysical instruments, InSight will delve deep beneath the surface of Mars, detecting the fingerprints of the processes of terrestrial planet formation, as well as measuring the planet’s “vital signs”: Its “pulse” (seismology), “temperature” (heat flow probe), and “reflexes” (precision tracking),” NASA said.
