Gilas Pilipinas staved off stubborn Chinese-Taipei Monday, November 27, to claim its second win, 90-83, in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers before a cheering home crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The victory was Gilas' second in a row in Group B. Taiwan slipped to 0-2.
In another Group B game, Australia beat Japan, 82-58, Monday to also collect its second win in Adelaide, Australia. The Aussies earlier beat Chinese-Taipei, 104-66, Friday, November, 24.
“A lot their players, we’ve (already) played against. We just want to make sure that we take a look at any new stuff they’re running,” Reyes furthered.
Gilas is coming off a decent 77-70 win over Japan last Friday. Their next assignment, though, are reeling from a 66-104 loss in the hands of the powerhouse Australians.
