Chelsi Smith, a crowned Miss USA and Miss Universe in 1995 has died at the age of 45 after a year-long battle with liver cancer.
She was then 22 when judges at the Miss Universe competition in Namibia, Africa, announced her the winner over the 81 contestants. She was the first and only Texan to wear the Miss Universe crown and she was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.
