Wil Dasovich and Friends Jumped Off The Polluted Pasig River To Promote Environmental Awareness

The Filipino-American vlogger Wil Dasovich was known for his extreme daredevil stunts recently took a challenge with friends, diving into the Pasig River to see how bad it really is.





Recently, the National Geographic had made a short clip showing plastic waste floating the Pasig River. The famous vlogger Wil Dasovich was moved to that sad situation of Pasig River and he made something to raise an awareness to the People of Manila the importance of the Pasig river that needs to be take cared. His idea was to prank his American childhood friends by swimming the Pasig river. The current status of the Pasig River is not as bad as it was before, the 25-kms long river was considered "biologically dead," according to Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) executive director Jose Goitia. However, it is still polluted.

In the video Dasovich managed to convinced his friends to dive together with some other kids. What's funny is that his friends doesn't smell any, but instead his friends enjoyed the water.

"Hindi man lang nila napansin na ang baho, ang dumi, They're just having fun," he said.


Dasovich also used the opportunity to bring attention and help raise awareness about the Pasig River. "It could become that again if we all just do our part,"Dasovich claimed."One of the biggest issues in the Philippines is definitely its human impact on the environment."

"It's easy to blame the government or private sectors, but at the end of the day it really comes down to us. And without discipline, there won't be progress."



He even shared links to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Save Palawan Seas Foundation (SPSF) a non-government organizations (NGOs) in the video.
