102 year-old woman skydive from 14,000 feet for charity

The 102-year-old woman from Australia would be the oldest skydiver in the world while raising money and awareness of the disease that killed her daughter. 



Irene O'Shea's daughter died from motor neuron disease, a diseases that cause the nerves in the spine and brain to progressively lose function. Motor neuron disease (MND) can appear at any age, but most patients are over 40 years old at diagnoses. It affects men more than women, according to medical news.



SA Skydiving which broke the world record smoothly brought the coolest grandma in the world to its dropzone. The previous record was by Bryson William Verdun Hayes, a British veteran to jumped out of a plane in May 2017 at the age of 101.

The Athelstone, Australia grandma jumped from 14,000 feet at SA Skydiving Langhorne Creek Dropzone, allowing her to free-fall at 136 mph before her parachute was deployed.

This is a tandem jumped together with instructor Jed Smith, a paramedic who made a thousands of dives.
