Around 100,000 jobs may be opened to qualified Filipino workers by next month, April 2019. Japan may need 100,000 Filipino workers in various fields of employment, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III quoted as saying on Super Radyo dzBB.
The 100,000 job requirements is part of the 350,000 jobs Japan is planning to open to foreign workers.
Labor Department is set to sign a memorandum of cooperation on Tuesday in Tokyo with Japan's Ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Health, Labor and Welfare and the National Police Agency.
Japan in particular are in need of healthcare, maintenance, food services, electronics, agriculture, construction, aquaculture, fisheries and shipbuilding among others.
Some other agreement which was recently-signed, Japan is also allowing skilled workers, professionals and businessmen from the Philippines to stay up to 5 years, and bring along their spouses and children.
