Huge tunnel boring machine for Metro Manila Subway Project arrives in Manila

A huge cutter head of the tunnel boring machine for Metro manila Subway Project has arrived, putting doubt to an end saying the ambitious project is just a dream.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade quoted as saying to Daily Tribune that the 28.3-kilometer tunnel will soon to commence. The 28.3-kilometer subway line would cost around P357 billion to construct and optimistic to met the schedule and will hand-over the three stations by 2022.

The first phase of the project will run from Mindanao Avenue to Tandang Sora and finally to North Avenue as per the schedule work flow of partners Shimizu Corp, Fujita Corp, Takenaka Civil Engineering Co. Ltd. and EEI Corp. 

Along with the subway line project, the Duterte administration vowed to complete the 38-kilometer North-South railway Project (NSRP) no later than the fourth quarter of 2021 instead of 2022, when President Duterte's term end without sacrificing quality.

Phase 1 of the North-South Railway Project (NSRP) will run from Tutuban Station in Manila to Malolos in Bulacan. NSRP will eventually extends 109 kilometers more to Clark Pampanga.
