Curry, Harden, Westbrook want to play in 2020 Tokyo Olympics

James Harden, the two-time reigning NBA champion together with fellow Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook had expressed their interest to join the national team for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Harden announced his interest when he spoke to reporters, he made it clear he wants to defend its gold medal and the reputations for being the best team in the world of basketball.

“Of course that’s one of my goals, to represent the USA and this beautiful country at the Games,” Harden said.

Meanwhile, Westbrook also wants to be part of the team as it also expressed his interest to join the American team that will attempt to secure a third consecutive gold medal after the US team won in 2012 and 2016.

Among the other NBA star who commits for 2020 Tokyo Olympics is the Golden States Warrior star Stephen Curry. If permits, Curry will play for the first time in the Olympics. He played the US team and win the two FIBA World Cup gold medals in 2010 and 2014.

Team USA finished seventh in the recent FIBA World Cup, the worst finish ever!
