A Chaotic Hongkong Protests

Leader condemns extremely violent  event as protesters fights with legislature and police respond.

Hongkong hit a day with turmoil Tuesday after a man was shot by a police  following the confrontation with protesters in one of the most dramatic days in over five months of protests.

Hundreds of demonstrators stormed into Hongkong's legislature smashing their way in as the crisis that has gripped the semi-autonomous Chinese territory for weeks rapidly intensified.

Protests have raged in Hongkong against controversial extradition bill, which would allow suspect ls to be sent to mainland for trial.

On June 9, more than a million people marched against the bill as they fear will allow China encroach on rights in the territory.

And now some universities and schools shut Tuesday as protesters and riot police faced off around the Asian Financial Hub.

Police had already fired tear gas on the city's streets and detained dozens of people. Thousands of people brought traffic to a standstill by occupying  the major intersection in Central, the  city's business district.
Masked rioters dropped bricks from a footbridge, threw chairs and traffic cones.

Police spokesman Kong Wing-Cheung said, "pushed to the brink of a total breakdown… over the past two days if anyone who was still making excuses for protesters' violence, they needed to do some soul-searching".

He then added, "If anyone still has any wishful thinking that they can achieve their so called ideas by using violence, please wake up… if you still refuse to cut ties with rioters and are still looking for excuses to defend them, you are indeed an accomplice".

The aggressive rioters were trying to disrupt the city's transportation network.

Hongkong leader Carrie Lam said, "aggressive rioters… they want to paralysed Hongkong which is a selfish act".

Though a riot is on the classes in Hongkong is still not subject to suspend as it would give protesters what they wanted, to bring the city to a standstill.

Even subway lines are still operating, but the commuters were forced to walk along the train in Sha Tin district after an unidentified object was found on the track.
