A Davao bound passenger was accosted by airport security screening officer on November 7, 2019 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 for having in his possession, a grenade-shaped novelty lighter.
The screening officer had ordered him to open his bag after suspecting that it contained something strange. The man was identified to be a certain Archie Peregrino.
The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) warns passengers from bringing in suspicious items resembling explosives at various transportation facilities in the country.
OTS Administrator Usec. Raul L. Del Rosario said that doing so will not only delay your flight , but it would also cause panic among other passengers.
Authorities reminds the public that various transport facilities in the country remained on heightened alert status, and asked for passengers' cooperation.
