During the durability tests demonstrations hosted by Musk, a black-clad Tesla truck was first hit with a sledgehammer several times, a simulation of a 9mm bullet strike, hefty metal ball, and showed the truck winning a tug-of-war against Ford F150 and a drag race with a Porche 911.
The truck design was partly influenced by the Lotus Esprit sports car used in the 1970s James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
Tesla says production is expected to begin in late 2021, but preorders can be made at tesla.com/cybertruck.
