Leonardo DiCaprio responds after Brazil's President blames the actor for Amazon fires

Leonardo DiCaprio stand for himself for all the allegations and involvement in the Amazon forest fires.

Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil President criticized DiCaprio and the non-profit organizations for contributing to the catastrophe  at the Amazon.

"Take photo, film, send it to an NGO, the NGO spreads it out, does a campaign against Brazil, gets in touch with Leonardo DiCaprio and Leonardo DiCaprio donates $500,000 to this NGO. One part went to the people who were setting the fire, right?" he had said.

"Leonardo DiCaprio, you are assisting with the burning of the Amazon, that can't be," he added.

"Leonardo DiCaprio is a great guy, isn't he? Donating money to set the Amazon on fire.

After the Brazil President put the blame on Leonardo, the Titanic actor released a statement on his Instagram account. He denied the claims of him funding groups that were embroiled with the fires in the rainforest.

"At the times of crisis for the Amazon, I support the people of Brazil working to save their natural and cultural heritage. They are an amazing, moving and humbling example  of the commitment and passion needed to save the environment. The future of these irreplaceable ecosystems is at stake and I am proud to stand with the groups protecting them. While worthy of support, we did not fund the organizations targeted, " he said.

The Hollywood actor, philanthropist, and environmentalist who became very vocal on behalf of combating climate change, has donated $5 million to help combat the Amazon fires in August. His Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has also focused on protecting "vulnerable wildlife from extinction."
