Celebrities expresses awareness to stop stigma over mental health issues

Celebrities unified call to fight against mental health issues has came alive, after a recent incident that blow the internet about Jobert Sucaldito's remark over Nadine Lustre's mental health struggles. 

Although the stigma surrounding mental illness has declined in recent years, still many believed that this should be dealt seriously.

Kiana Valenciano on her Twitter account: "WAKE UP AND GROW UP. Suicide is not a joking matter or something to bring up passively for clout. I am stunned. How can someone be so ignorant and insensitive about this issue in this day and age?"

"Thinking of all the people I have met who silently struggle with mental health & suicidal thoughts and then hearing someone so callously turn that battle into a joke just goes to show that there is still so much work to be done. We must educate ourselves to break the stigma," Kiana Valenciano added.

Gab Valenciano, who has suffered from depression, recounted his experience, "tossed around loosely."

Ging Reyes has released a statement Wednesday, January 8, about Sucaldito's remark on suicide, saying that their department takes mental health seriously and such a remark he made should not be tolerated.
