Jobert Sucaldito slammed over suicide joke about Nadine Lustre 'I hope she just jumped'

The veteran showbiz reporter Jobert Sucaldito has earned backlash online for "joking" about suicide against Nadine Lustre's response to Ricky Lo column.

The controversy started after a Twitter user named @kooridenka posted an audio clip of Sucaldito during his DZMM slots "Showbuzz", January 7. Sucaldito on his defense to fellow reporter Ricky Lo noted that he did not like the tone Lustre in correcting Lo over his report. He even called out Lestre and Reid fandom "JaDine."

"You are wrong here. Unang-una, gusto namin ipaalala sa inyo lahat na mga fans ng JaDine, hindi kami ang may pakulo ng lahat ng ito. Wala kaming alam sa mga buhay ng mga idol 'nyo. Sila ang gawa-gawa ng kuwento na ang mali namin pinatulan namin kaya medyo lumaki at pinag-uusapan," he said, referring to Nadine and her fans.

“You are wrong here. First of all, We are not the ones behind all this. We don’t know anything about the lives of your idols. They’re the ones who created all these stories that we reported…Isn’t that what they want?” Sucaldito said, defending Lo’s coverage of Lustre.

Audio clips aired in DZMM was heard he quipped Lustre to jump off a building, “I hope she just jumped,” He said.

Lo, an entertainment columnist, previously published a write-up which Nadine belied rumors about separation with her boyfriend James.

Sucaldito's outburst did not end when he posted earlier a lengthy rant on his Facebook account and asserted all the information that Lo provided in his article were carefully researched.
