Architect Designs A Modern Minimalist Home Inside A Massive Rock Looks Stunning

This architect has decided to preserve history by letting this massive rock formation into placed. While most developers would demolish abstractions and flattened the surface before initiating to develop a masterpiece, Amey Kandalgaonkar has a different principle in facing this issue.

Shanghai-based architectural photographer Kandalgaonkar unveils his jaw-dropping designs showing a minimalist house built inside a giant rock. Inspired from Mada'in Saleh rock tombs in Saudi Arabia, this man-made contemporary structure is a proof that opposite component can complement each other with stunning result.



“Considering the visual complexity of the rocks at Mada’in Saleh, it was imperative to use simple planes and cubes in order to achieve a visual balance,” the Shanghai-based architect explains




Through 3D rendering, he achieved a concept of modern minimalist home that runs through a natural gigantic rock.




"Later when inserting the house into this rock, I tried to keep its visual impact from eye level as minimum as possible and only when observed from a birds eye, the real extent of the intervention is revealed,” he added.
