The 38-year-old mother in Bacolod city died at her home when she went back into the inferno, trying to save the family pets.
According to Bombo Radyo report, Michelle Mirasol, 35, was already outside their home together with her son and mother at the time of the blaze. While calling for help and dousing the flames, Mirasol decided to run back inside their burning house to save the 9 shih tzu.
The report added that Mirasol was able to save three pups, sadly, she failed to escape from the rapid spread of fire.
Firefighter found the victim's body inside the bathroom and is believed to have died of suffocation.
Non-profit animal welfare organization Pawssion project posted the sad news on their Facebook page.
"To some, the dogs are just but properties, things. To people like Michelle, they are family. And family means no one gets left behind," the post read.
