Pinoys rank first in submissions for NASA's 'Send Your Name to Mars'

It seems that more Filipinos are signing up for NASA's campaign 'Send Your Name to Mars' program, and the Philippines leads all over the world with the most number of submissions. 




As of the posting, the Philippines has submitted 1,939,751 hopefuls, making up 62% of the world total of 3,081,259. The United States comes second with 163,473 reservations, followed by India with 147,624.

The program of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), "Send Your Name to Mars"  allows anyone around the globe to fly their names in its future missions to the Red Planet.

This is the second opportunity for the public to submit their names for the next expedition, interested applicants can still sign up at NASA's website.


The latest Mars mission "Perseverance Rover" was launched July 30, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in the US, with 10.9 million names aboard. The spacecraft is expected to reached the red planet on February 18, 2021 with the Perseverance Rover mission that aims to look for possible signs of life.
