PWD stroke survivor donates P12K to typhoon Ulysses victims in Marikina

 This PWD man, a stroke survivor, is keeping the word 'No one is so poor that they can not give something'' alive, and the faith in humanity has been restored.

Romeo 'Romy' Menil, 50, a resident of Brgy Mambangun, Antipolo City, Rizal personally went to the Marikina City Hall and voluntarily gave his donation worth P12,390 to Mayor Marcelino Teodoro for the typhoon Ulysses victims. The money was came from the alms he received from strangers on the streets. He was left disabled after suffering from a stroke.



 He was accompanied by a barangay official of Mambungan, Monday, November 16. Marikina City praised and thanked Menil for sharing an overwhelming act of kindness.

"Nangolekta at nanghingi ng pera sa kalsada ang 50 anyos na PWD na si Romeo Menil, taga-Barangay Mambugan upang makatulong sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo sa lungsod.



"Nakalikom ng halagang 12,390Php si Menil kaya nagpasama siya sa kagawad ng kanilang barangay upang maiabot ang pera sa mga taga-Marikina," Marikina PIO said on a Facebook post.





Despite of his disability and personal needs, Romy never hesitate to give help for the families most affected by the typhoon.

Menil's story has since caught public attention and brought inspiration online has earned over 12K reactions and more than 2.7K shares.



Almost 40,000 houses in Marikina City were submerged in floodwaters, with estimated damage to reach P30 billion.
