Chai Fonacier to appear in upcoming movie 'Nocebo' alongside Eva Green, Mark Strong

 Filipino actress Chai Fonacier will appear in the movie "Nocebo," alongside international stars Eva Green and Mark Strong. 







The film tells the story of a fashion designer (Green) suffering from a mysterious disease that puzzles her doctors and frustrates her husbands, until a Filipino caregiver (Fonacier) came and introduced the traditional folk healing to reveal the truth to the unknown illness.







Nocebo is the first-ever co-production between Ireland and the Philippines with Epic Media as the Filipino co-producers. Set between London and Manila, it is said to be the Film Development Council of the Philippines is helping finance the movie, according to Variety.





“Nocebo” is the antonym of “placebo,” and refers to the Nocebo Effect, in which negative thinking on the part of a patient results in a more negative outcome.







The film which is now in production in Ireland is directed by Vivarium director Lorcan Finnegan, written by Garret Shanley - it also include Emily Leo, Brunella Cocchigla, and Philippine-based producers Bianca Balbuena and Bradley Liew.




Cebu-based actress Chai Fonacier is an award-winning actress who won several awards in the filom "Patay na si Hesus," "Respeto," "Pauwi Na," and "Beautiful."





Meanwhile, the former Bond girl, Green, is a Golden Globe nominee for her role in the series "Penny Dreadful".
