If everything goes well, the bridge will link three major island provinces in the Western Visayas such as the Panay, Guimaras, and Negros.

During a finance hearing last October, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon asks for the commitment of Public Works Secretary Mark Villar to start the construction of the 32-kilometer Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge, which he said, has been an unrealized dream for the people of Region 6.

If push through, the bridge will give a lot of economic activity to the three provinces. Currently, a Roll-on/roll-off ships are used in the three provinces for transporting their products since there are no other land route that directly connect them.
