Philippines' plans to reopen Cinemas, Theme Parks soon

 Despite the threat of coronavirus continue almost everywhere in the world, the Philippines' plans to reopen cinemas and theme parks very soon as the economy suffered to lowest record last year.  




It will allow to increase capacity of religious gatherings to a maximum of 50% from the current 30% starting Feb. 15. The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) has also permitted the reopening of driving schools, game arcades, libraries , museums, and conferences, among others provided health protocols are strictly implemented.










"Many workers in the industry we reopened have long lost their livelihoods and now they can finally return to work again," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.









Meanwhile, other local government units have expressed anxious about reopening of the cinemas even areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). 










Councilor Philip Zafra, who has been tasked to coordinate with the cinemas in Cebu to study their reopening, said that the rising cases of the Coronavirus cases have discouraged the city government from the reopening the cinemas because of the risks.











"Moabot ra gyod na nga magabli sa mga cinemas. There may be no definite dates as to when kay atong huwaton nga monaog ang kaso matag adlaw. Rest assured, we are into this," the councilor said as quoted at cebu daily news.







"You are going to allow people to be confined in an air-conditioned facility for almost two hours and I believe that this poses high risk in terms of infection," Mayor Francis Zamora of San Juan said on his remarked.
