NCR, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna to place under ECQ for a week

 Known as the NCR Plus, National Capital Region and neighboring areas will be placed under a stricter enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the continues spike in COVID-19 cases, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Saturday.





The implementation will start Monday, March 29 to April 4. NCR, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna was earlier put in a bubble until April 4 to control the region's COVID outbreak.







Meanwhile, essential purposes such as work and delivery of humanitarian aid will be allowed under the guidelines. The list of APORs can be found here.






Other restrictions include a curfew from 6 pm to 5 am, and no indoor dining in restaurants. Minors, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with immunodeficiency and co-morbidities are not allowed to go out.






Meanwhile, malls will remain open for essential stores such as groceries, pharmacies, and hardware stores.





On Saturday, March 27, the country logs 9,595 new infections bringing the total tally to 712,442 with 118,122 active cases.
