Male nurse of the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) has reportedly died. According to JP Soriano's report on Saturday, the male nurse was assigned to the hospital's charity ward.
At least 13 doctors, 30 nurse, and 15 hospital staffers who were close contacts were tested and undergoing quarantine at PHC facility.
Recently, the Filipino Nurses United (FNU) called for the resignation of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III amid the spike of the COVID-19 cases among the healthcare workers.
"We hope that our leadership be replaced by a more competent Secretary of Health. Secretary Duque must resign for the betterment of our health," the FNU said in a statement.
On Saturday, March 20, the Philippines recorded the highest single day COVID-19 cases with 7,999 counts - bringing the total to 656,056.
