After five-year reign as ONE heavyweight champion, the Filipino American mixed Martial arts sensation Brandon Vera has put his belt to an end after his defeat against Canada-born Indian fighter Arjan Bhullar.
Bhullar rocked the 43-year-old Vera with two powerful right hands in the second round, but he recovered. The Indian heavy weight star continue to his goal and took Vera down minutes later, raining down punches from top position until the referee decided to stop on Saturday's main fight in Singapore.
Bhullar became India's first MMA heavyweight champion, and improved his record to 11-1-0 with four knockouts.
"India, we got one now," Bhullar said after the win. "Your first world champion. Let's go."
The Filipino American veteran suffered his second straight loss in ONE championship following his defeat against the Burmese fighter Aung La Nsang in October 2019 via TKO.
