Philippines' Pole vaulter EJ Obiena has improved with new record in outdoor pole vault in the Paris Diamond League. He successfully cleared the 5.91 meter mark to reset the record he previously took with 5.87 meters at the World Athletics Continental Tour.
Obiena also attempted to clear 5.96 meter and once for 6.01 meter but failed for his attempt.
He finished second behind Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist Armand Duplantis, who dominate the tournament with 6.01 meters.
American Christopher Nielsen, meanwhile, finished third with 5.81 meters.
