Man arrested for hanging the Philippine flag upside down at NAIA

 A 27-year-old man was arrested Sunday, October 10 and was charged with desecrating the Philippine flag after he was accused of hanging it upside down.




NAIA police identified the man as Jay-ar Beril of Bautista compound, Purok 8 in Alabang, Muntinlupa. 



According on a police report, Beril was spotted lowering the Philippines flag at the flag pole of the NAIA terminal 3 in Pasay City. Eyewitness said that they saw Beril raising the flag back with the flag touching the ground and in an upside down position where the red color part of the flag on top.



Beril will be facing charges to violation of Republic Act 8491 or an Act Prescribing the code of the National Flag, Anthem, Motto, Coat-of-Arms and other Heraldic items.
