Finally, after 15-years, Miss Universe Belgium 2021 Kedist Deltour reunited with her biological father in Ethiopia.
On her Instagram post, the beauty queen and fashion model shared a heartwarming photo of their engagement.
"I spent much of my childhood wondering how it would be to finally meet my biological father. Imagining how I would react in the given moment. Would be sad? Happy?" Deltour said.
She was 10 years old then when she and her siblings were adopted by a Belgian couple and moved to Westhoek in West Flanders. They got separated to their father when their mother died of cancer
"I couldn't believe how overwhelmed I was with emotions when I finally met him," she said.
"This is a day I will never forget. I got to experience a part of me that I kept for myself for so long," she added.
She said that she has forgiven her father for leaving her in foster care at a young age, "my heart is at peace. I feel like a new person."
According to the Miss Universe Organization, Kedist Deltour went from being a street child to becoming Miss Belgium. She was crowned Miss Universe Belgium in March 2021 and set to represent the country at the international stage on December.
Two days after she was reunited with her father, Deltour was forced to return to Belgium due to the deteriorating political situation in the country.
