Eight people were confirmed dead and dozens were rushed to Houston hospitals after a stampede has occurred on the night of the opening sold-out concert of rapper Travis Scott in Astraworld Festival in Texas on Friday. The victims were as young as 10 years old, the report says.
A shocking footage shared on social media shows scene as paramedics perform CPR to the victims. Crowd began to rush toward the stage and others began climbing onto portable loos as security tried to contain the crowd.
Hundreds of people were treated at a field hospital set up on the scene. Earlier Friday afternoon, crowds rushed the VIP gate, knocked over the fence and trampled over people who fell. There were no serious injuries reported after the incident.
The Astroworld Festival for the rest of the weekend has been canceled.
