At least more than 50 people are feared dead after a series of tornadoes ripped through the central and southern US including Kentucky.
Gov. Andy Beshear called it "one of the toughest nights in Kentucky history," after more than 30 tornadoes have been reported in at least six states.
"We believe our death toll from this event is north of 70 Kentuckians and may end of exceeding 100 before the day is done ," said Beshear. "We will make it through this," he added. "We will rebuild, we are strong, resilient people."
Meanwhile, hundred of thousands remain without power in Tennessee and Kentucky on Saturday morning.
