Tarlac Congressman Charlie Cojuangco has died on Tuesday, Feb. 22, his wife confirmed. He was 58.
Cojuangco is the youngest son of the late businessman Danding Cojuangco.
"It is with heavy heart that we regret to inform you that my husband, Claudia and Jaime's father, Carlos 'Charlie Cojuangco, has passed away," Jocson announced in a Facebook post.
No further details were provided. She said that details of Cojuangco's wake and interment will follow.
"Thank you for your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time," she added.
Before serving as Tarlac's 1st district, Cojuangco previously served as mayor of the Municipality of Pontevedra in Negros Occidental, and representative of the 4th district of Negros Occidental.
He also survived a crash during a circuit race in October 2021 after suffering an aneurysm while racing at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga, Bilyonaryo reports.
