A horrifying footage was captured moment a zoo monkey in UK climbed a tall pole to snatch a seagull flying from the sky. The scene draws comparison to a King Kong - savagely smashing a bird to death and eat it.
The shocking moment was witnessed by many visitors which took place at Chester Zoo on Saturday, February 26.
“It was like watching the real King Kong,” Bec Adamson, 32, told Kennedy of the violent attack, which occurred while she was visiting the Chester Zoo in Cheshire with her family.
“We’d just been to see the rhinos, so we were walking across, then I saw all these seagulls circling and then this monkey caught one as it was flying past,” explained the hospitality worker, who was with her then-partner Jamie Stockall, 35, and five-year-old son Dominik Minshull at the time. “It was really clever.”
In the clip could be seen the capuchin monkey appeared to have 'lick blood off its fingers' as the bird seems unconscious following a fatal assault.
The mother of one, from Northwich, Cheshire, and her partner Jamie Stockall described how the monkey dropped the seagull and quickly climbed down.
Interestingly, Adamson's son was more curious than disturbed by the grisly spectacle. Ms Adamson said that her son Dominik Minshull, five, was watching as well because it resembled the David Attenborough nature clips he loves so much.
