In the latest episode of Ogie Diaz's Youtube Channel, he mentioned that he just found out that Cherie Gil and actor Leo Martinez have a child.
Even other netizens were surprised when they heard that these celebrity icons had a relationship before and were blessed with a child.
According to Ogie, for how many years in the showbiz industry, he doesn't know that Cherie's eldest son is Jay Eigenmann.
"I just found out now, my god, we've been in showbiz for 35 years. I just found out, Cherie Gil has a child with Sir Leo Martinez," said Ogie.
The Pinoy History Facebook page posted the entire Eigenmann family tree, from Cherie's parents Eduardo Mesa Eigenmann and mother, Rosemarie Gil.
Cherie Gil's death uprooted her family tree. The Eigenmann family tree became an attention grabber after seeing the picture of comedian Leo Martinez. Many were confused as to how Sid Lucero and Andi Eigenmann became his nephews.
Cherie's three children are Jay Eigenmann (her son with veteran actor and comedian Leo Martinez), and two children with her ex-husband, world-renowned Israeli violinist Rony Rogoff—Bianca and Raphael.
The three children of the late award-winning actress Cherie Gil also posted their respective messages through social media.
"I love you so much mom (purple heart emoji)," Jay captioned the photo of him and his mother.
Bianca's message was, "I love you, mom. You did such a good job. I am so proud of you (purple heart emoji).”
Raphael's statement "Words cannot express my love for you, Momma. I'm so proud of you (purple heart emoji). #macherieamour.”
Many mourned the death of the veteran actress.
Gary Valenciano's sister, Gina Valenciano, Leo's wife, was among those who expressed grief over the passing of the 59-year-old actress.
"No more pain...rest well dear Cherie," Gina's Instagram post on August 5.
Jaclyn Jose also mourned the loss of Cherie.
Jaclyn's sadness can be felt in her Instagram post with a photo of Cherie and a simple caption, "My Cherie!"
Cherie's brother Mark Gil was previously in a relationship with Jaclyn. Andi Eigenmann is the daughter of Jaclyn and Mark.
Cherie was diagnosed with endometrial cancer which caused her death while being treated in America.
Her children are living in America, which is why the award-winning actress has decided to live there as well after being hit by cancer.
Raphael also posted old photos of him and his mother on his Instagram Story, including the photo where the hardships he is going through due to cancer are evident in his appearance.
Cherie's children and other family members are also diligently answering the netizens who sympathize with their family, including the artists who worked with and became close to the late actress.
