Thousands of people flocks to the DSWD offices because of the cash assistance for students. Since DSWD secretary Erwin Tulfo announced the distribution of aid, students and parents flocked to schools to obtain a certificate of enrollment which is one of the requirements for submission.
On the first day of educational cash assistance distribution, all DSWD offices in all parts of the Philippines were flocked with people.
The aid to be received is to purchase the needs of the students for the opening of classes, according to DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo.
In the press briefing by secretary Erwin Tulfo on PTV, he clarified that 4ps members are no longer involved in educational assistance because 4ps is already educational assistance for children. The money received from 4ps is to purchase school supplies and other needs of the children.
He added that government scholars can no longer receive educational assistance from the DSWD because their scholarship includes the purchase of school supplies.
Secretary Erwin Tulfo also clarified that if the member of 4ps received educational assistance today, even the government scholars, must refund the money, otherwise the money they received will be deducted from the next month of their payout in 4ps, even the government scholar.
