PARENTS FLOCK TO SCHOOL FOR DSWD EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

 Parents of students flock to schools today to obtain certification of enrollment for DSWD Educational Assistance.



Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo of the Department of Social Welfare and Development announced the distribution of Educational Assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program. 

Educational Assistance is provided once per school year to Students-In-Crisis as additional assistance with their educational needs during a crisis or emergency situation. 

Educational Assistance payout will begin at the Department's Central Office this coming Saturday, August 20, 2022 and the following Saturdays - August 27, September 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 7 am. 


Meanwhile, the Department's Field Offices are carrying out the distribution for those in the provinces along with other assistance under the AICS program. Announced by Sec. Erwin Tulfo that they will start giving out Educational Assistance for students.



This DSWD Educational Cash Assistance is intended for AICS Members or Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations.




Examples of Student-in Crisis:

•Breadwinner

•Working student

•Orphan/Abandoned living with relatives

•Child of a single parent

•Parents are unemployed

•Son of OFW's

•Son of HIV victim

•Victim of abuse

•Victim of calamity or disaster

According to DSWD secretary Erwin Tulfo, they will provide 1,000 assistance for elementary, 2,000 for high school, 3,000 for senior high school, and 4,000 for college students.
