A total of 12 passengers aboard a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Los Angeles to Manila were injured after the place encountered a severe turbulence two hours before touch down.
PAL, in a statement, nine(9) passengers of Flight PR113 and three crew members were injured and rushed to the hospital after they landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday, at 10:30 PM.
There was no advance warning of the incident as turbulence was undetectable on the aircraft's onboard weather radar system.
On Monday morning, one injured passenger was confined at the hospital while other have been discharged after treatment.
PAL will shoulder the medical expenses of several passengers who were injured during the flight.
"We are in the process of reaching out to the affected passengers and coordinating passenger wellness," it said.
"We affirm that safety is our top priority and that Philippine Airlines is fully cooperating with the concerned airport and aviation authorities," PAL Added.
