A public school teacher from Sitio Sumuhi in Brgy. Cabiton-an, Daram, Samar called for help for his illness.
He was identified as Brando Montuerto Alvarez, 37 years old, a public school teacher and a resident of the said barangay.
According to Alvarez, he was diagnosed with 'spinal canal stenosis' and said he was unable to undergo surgery due to lack of sufficient money.

It was allegedly started with an accident after slipping on a dock after taking learning modules.
In addition to this, it is said that his wife does not have a job and his children are still small, so he is the only one expected of his family.
Brando's condition is also difficult because there is no certainty when he will be able to walk again and return to work.
The said teacher appealed through his Facebook page hoping that Kapuso Mo Jessica Sojo (KMJS) will help him with his illness that he has been going through.

Alvarez 37 taong gulang nakatira sa Sitio Sumuhi Barangay Cabiton-an Daram Samar isa po akong public school teacher humihingi po ako ng tulong sa pamamagitan ng programa nyo..akoy may sakit sa kasalukuyan na diagnose po ako na spinal canal stenosis..hindi po ako nakapagpaopera dahil wala po akung sapat na pera.
Nagkaganito po ako dahil naaksidente ako ng pagkadulas sa isang pantalan kung saan kukuha kami ng mga learning modules.
Sana po mabasa nyo ito at matulungan nyo po ako nag aalala po aku sa kalagayan ko kc mga anak ko maliliit pa,.walang trabaho ang asawa ku aku lang ang inaasahan,ito pat may sakit aku,wala pang kasiguruhan kung kailan aku makakalakad,para makabalik sa trabaho.salamat po.,,sana mapansin nyo ako... narito po ang mga larawan ku.
