SEVENTEEN MEMBER JOSHUA HONG COMPLAINT ABOUT OVERCHARGED TAXI FARE DURING A TRIP IN MANILA

 K-pop boy group member of 'Seventeen' Joshua Hong talked about his bad experienced when he get a quick trip with his mother going to the Philippines.



Hong revealed the unfortunate experienced during a livestream, following the group's concert in Bangkok, Thailand. According to him, he was originally headed to Vietnam for a vacation but he later learned that he would be needing a visa to enter the country.



In just a quick decision at the airport he booked a flight to Manila with his mom to continue their trip. However, another hassle experienced he encounter when they arrived at the airport, he won't be able withdraw his money from the ATM, not being able to use his credit card at a hotel and a convenience store, and getting overcharged fare by a taxi driver which according to him he later found out that he pay three times the standard fare for the trip.




"I'm not saying that Manila is a bad place to travel. I'm just sharing my own experience," said Hong. Added "that is what sort of thing that could happen to you if you go on a trip without making any plans in advance."



The group 'Seventeen' has successfully concluded their "Be the Sun" concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 8 and 9.



Meanwhile, the issue have reached the attention of Land Transportation Franchising and issued a statement denouncing the schemes and abuse committed by some PUV drivers to commuters.



"Mariing kinokondena ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang pang-aabuso ng mga Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers sa labis na paniningil ng pamasahe sa kanilang mga pasahero.



"Kasunod 'yan ng naging pahayag ni Joshua Hong, miyembro ng sikat na Korean Pop boy group na Seventeen, nang tanungin sa kanyang naging karanasan pagdating sa bansa para ipagdiwang ang Chuseok holiday o Korean Thanksgiving noong nakaraang buwan.


"Ayon kay Joshua, siningil siya ng mahigit P1,000 ng isang taxi driver, tinatayang tatlong beses na mas mataas sa dapat na singil sa kaniya sa taxi.


"Kailanman ay hindi katanggap-tanggap sa LTFRB ang ganitong panloloko ng mga PUV drivers sa kanilang mga pasahero - lokal man o dayuhan," the statement read.




Following the incident LTFRB urged the commuters to report any similar complaints to the agency through their hotlines, social media channels and email address.
