Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, popularly known as H.E.R. is showcasing her Filipino roots in the upcoming hybrid live-action and animated special of "Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration."
H.E.R. who will be playing the role of Belle did not forget her roots as she embroidered her costume with 'baybayin'.
"I can't believe I get to be a part of the 'Beauty and the Beast' legacy.The world will see a Black and Filipino Belle!" the Award-Winning singer said.
"I have always wanted to be a Disney princess, and I get to work with two wonderful directors Hamish Hamilton and my favorite, Jon M. Chu. It is very surreal and I couldn't be more grateful," she added.
According to some eagle-eyed social media users the red patterns read "Bel."

The writing says “Bela” (“Bella”) in baybayin. A pre-colonial script that was almost taken from us, but we are reviving it.

Baybayin, is a Philippine ancient script used in the Tagalog language before it has been replaced by the Latin alphabet during Spanish era.
She also appeared in "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" where she sang a little part of the Beauty and the Beast Song.
