Kapamilya Lead actress, Jodi Sta. Maria won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award in the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2022.
The awarding took place in Singapore on Thursday night, December 8.
Jodi won for her role in a Philippine adaptation of a Korean series The Broken Marriage Vow where she played the role of Dr. Jill Illustre.
Dr. Jill has been betrayed and took revenge after her husband cheated on her.
Her performance in the series was lauded and acknowledged by several award-giving bodies.
Jodi bested other International nominees for the best actress awardees, Sakshi Tanwar from India, Rebecca Lim from Singapore, Cheryl Yang from Taiwan, and Kim Hye-Soo from South Korea with a .07 winning margin.
