As the price of onion in Philippines continue to soar high that currently ranges at PHP700 (USD12.7) a kilo, no doubt onion is one of the precious commodity.
A post from Reddit went viral after a traffic violation encounter was later resolve by simply paying it with a bunch of spring onions.
The farmer who accidentally damage a car payed onions instead of money.
"The road was full. I saw him coming to the side of my car in my side mirror.. And I don't know why he was moving to the right towards me...
"The left side is open and wide and he could have moved straight forward. I heard a crash. I asked where he is from. I was looking at the damage..
"And looked at his trike and asked what they do. He said they deliver vegetables from a far away province. I joked pwede bang gulay nalang I bayad nyo? He said may sibuyas po. I was ready to drive away when he came with 2 bunch of sibuyas.
"Dahon ng sibuyas. Spring onions. I was returning it to them. They don't want. So I got one. This happened also before. They paid me with 2 fresh ocean caught fish. Sometimes life gives you flowers. Sometimes it gives you spring. Onions," a Reddit user Glad-Competition3835 said.
