FILIPINA TEEN WHO MOCKED FOR SAYING $80 CHARLES & KEITH BAG IS 'LUXURY' MEETS FOUNDER

The 17-year-old Filipina based in Singapore who became the subject of social media trolls after saying on TikTok that her $80 bag is "luxury" met the company's founder.

Zoe Gabriel was invited to have a lunch with Keith Wong, one of the fashion house's founder. She was even given the chance to tour to its headquarters.

Gabriel recently mocked by some TikTok users after she uploaded an unboxing video of a bag she bought from Singaporean brand Charles & Keith which appeared to be a gift from her father.

"My first luxury bag," she wrote on the video, which has since earned over 11 million views.

Her post about the Tote bag priced at $79.90 (P4,799) quickly earned negative comments and appeared to have been deleted.

"Who's gonna tell her?" said in a now deleted comment.

"I get that you come from humble beginning but calling C&K a luxury brand is just too much," another comment read.

Other commenters came to her defense and advised her to neglect haters.

Gabriel posted another video as her reply to negative comments, showing her humble background.

Her family moved to Singapore from the Philippines in 2010.

"My family didn't have a lot. We couldn't buy things as simple as bread from BreadTalk...when we moved to Singapore...Your comment spoke volumes on how ignorant you seem because of your wealth," she said.

"Everyone's life experiences and financial circumstances will be different from yours. Remember that what is cheap for you may be everything to another. To you, an 80$ bag may not be a luxury but for me and my family it is a lot," she added.

After the video went viral, Charles & Keith reached out to Gabriel.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Gabriel shared some of the snaps showing her and her dad at the Charles & Keith headquarters.

Other commenters came to her defense and advised her to neglect haters.
