Solo traveler, Cham Tanteras, took to TikTok to express her frustration after she missed her flight and paid P27K for another ticket just to fulfill her travel to Israel.
On her TikTok video, Cham said that she went early to NAIA Terminal 1 to avoid inconvenience during her flight.
She was invited at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Office for interview.
The BI officer asked her some basic questions like flight history and reason for travel. But according to her, a follow-up questions appeared to be unnecessary after she was asked about her parents status if separated or not, and if she graduated to college.
Cham, said that the officer requested her proof, asking her to show her yearbook when she answered that she was graduated 10 years ago.
After telling to the officer that it wasn't practical to bring a heavy yearbook during the flight, she was instead asked for her graduation photo. Luckily, she saved a wacky shot on her phone. But according to her the officer even feel uncertain about her photo since it appeared that she was gaining weight at the time.
She was even asked to answer a boarder control questionnaire form and write an essay boodle and freelancing.
She eventually missed her flight.
Cham originally bought her ticket at P19,000 for the missed flight. But had no choice, instead, she book for another ticket the following day for P27,000.
The investigation to the incident was "immediately" conducted according to the Bureau. But insisted that questioning is part of its protocol to combat trafficking and illegal recruiting.
