CELEBRITIES PAY TRIBUTE TO MARIO DUMAUAL AFTER HIS DEATH

 Mario Dumaual, 64,  a notable journalist and columnist, has died.

His demise was affirmed through his official social media account.



As per the post, Mario has died because of septic shock. He was restricted at the Philippine Heart Center for a month, doing combating a severe fungal infection which was an entanglement during his recuperation from a heart attack.



He died at 8:01 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, after he was restricted for a month at the Philippine Heart Center.

He would have turned 65 years of age on July 31.

 

"He kept fighting on, overcoming the heart attack then a cardiac arrest. He would always say he wanted to go home because he missed us, his family. But the infection overwhelmed his body’s ability to recover," his family said.

 

"What comforts us is he knew that we were always with him, waiting for him, and that home was wherever he felt our love," it added.

 

 

 

 

Celebrity tributes poured in for Mario Dumaual following news of the veteran entertainment newscaster's death.

 

 "A pillar of the industry, an excellent reporter, a defender of truth, and a true friend," actor turned politician Alfred Vargas said.

“Sobra akong lungkot. Tears in my eyes. Masakit na wala ka na Pareng Mario, my dear dear friend… and my Star News Boss,” she wrote. “[D]i ako makapaniwala na wala ka na," said Christine Babao.

Marc Logan, meanwhile said: "“Alam ko kabisado ko at sigurado ako kahit nakapikit kayang umukit ni Kuya Mario ng isang obra ng pagbabalita. Masarap makinig sa kanyang mga kwento. Kapag siya ang tumipa. Bawat titik at baybay punong puno ito ng buhay. Mapalad ako na naka trabaho ang isang tulad mo."


 Kylie Verzosa, Nicole Cordoves, and Hannah Arnold also sent their condolences.

 

Mario got the Joe Quirino Memorial Award at the fifth EDDYs Awards in November 2022 for his significant commitments to the film and Broadcast business in the Philippines.  He was also regarded in January with a five-point brass star in the German Moreno Walk of Fame in Eastwood City in Quezon City.
