Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen Shares Message for Aspiring Lawyers Awaiting Bar Exam Results

As aspiring lawyers anxiously await the results of the 2023 Bar exams, set to be released on Tuesday, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen has offered words of encouragement and wisdom.

Leonen, a former Bar chairperson, urged examinees to find peace with their faith and prepare themselves for whatever outcome they may receive. "Be humble. Learn patience. Learn how to be resilient. Be compassionate," he wrote on social media. "Serve our people. Do justice."

He also advised Bar takers to express gratitude to those who have supported them along their journey. "Take the time to thank all those who helped you get to where you are right now," he emphasized.

Leonen's message resonated with aspiring lawyers, with one commenting, "Noted on this, Justice. Thank you po."

The Supreme Court is set to release the Bar exam results on Tuesday, and the list of successful examinees will be displayed on LED walls within the high court's courtyard in Padre Faura Street in Manila from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Out of 10,791 aspiring lawyers, 10,387 took the three-day examinations last September. The Bar exam is the qualifying licensure examination administered by the high court to assess aspiring lawyers' knowledge of fundamental legal principles and basic skills required of an entry-level lawyer in the country.

It is the only qualifying licensure exam among skilled professionals that is not conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission.
