Japan Airlines Plane Catches Fire After Mid-Air Collision

 A Japan Airlines flight erupted in flames on Tuesday evening after a mid-air collision with a coast guard plane, sending emergency crews scrambling at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. 

 

Dramatic footage captured by broadcaster NHK showed flames engulfing the aircraft, spewing from windows and beneath the fuselage, while the runway itself was ablaze.



The flight, carrying 379 passengers and crew from Sapporo, had just touched down at Haneda when the incident unfolded. Thankfully, all onboard were safely evacuated, according to Japan Airlines.




"We are currently assessing the extent of the damage," the airline stated in an NHK report. Details of the coast guard plane involved and the cause of the collision remain unclear.



Images from the scene reveal a chaotic picture: multiple fire trucks battling the inferno as plumes of smoke and flames billow from the stricken aircraft. The incident has undoubtedly caused significant disruption at the busy airport, with further details and updates expected to emerge soon.
