BINI Gains International Attention After Foreign Fan Goes Wild Over "Salamin, Salamin" Music Video

Filipino girl group BINI is making waves not just locally but internationally as well. The group recently caught the eye of a foreign fan, leading to a surge in online interest.

On the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), user @lidolmix, a self-proclaimed "little mix stan," shared a clip from BINI's music video "Salamin, Salamin." Her caption expressed excitement about the Filipino girl group scene, and the post went viral, amassing millions of views and thousands of interactions.

This unexpected shoutout didn't go unnoticed. ABS-CBN's record label, Star Music, proudly acknowledged BINI and the foreign fan's enthusiasm. This interaction further boosted the online buzz.

Inspired by suggestions from other X users, @lidolmix revealed her journey into discovering Filipino girl groups. She expressed her delight at the music and even inquired about a specific member in the "Salamin, Salamin" video.

Maloi Ricalde, a member of BINI, took notice of the fan's question and playfully responded with a meme GIF, showcasing a positive and interactive approach with their newfound international audience.

BINI's success extends beyond viral moments. The group has been recognized by Billboard Philippines as the "Rising Stars" for their upcoming "Women in Music" event, highlighting their status as a promising act in the industry.

Furthermore, BINI recently achieved a significant milestone on Spotify, surpassing one million monthly listeners. This demonstrates their growing fanbase and the increasing global reach of Philippine pop music (P-Pop).

This surge in popularity coincides with the recent release of BINI's first extended play (EP) titled "Talaarawan," featuring the hit single "Salamin, Salamin."

Formed in 2021, BINI is an eight-member group whose name is derived from the Filipino term "Binibini," meaning young lady or young woman. The group underwent rigorous training under Star Hunt Academy and South Korean training company MU Doctor before making their debut.

The members of BINI are Maloi, Colet Vergara, Mikha Lim, Aiah Arceta, Stacey Sevilleja, Gwen Apuli, Sheena Catacutan, and their leader Jhoanna Robles.
