Mining Engineer Licensure Exam (MELE)

Good news for aspiring Mining Engineers!

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Mining Engineering are expected to release the results of the October 2024 MELE on October 28, 2024, or within two (2) working days after the exam dates (October 22, 23, and 24). This includes the complete list of passers, top 10 performers (topnotchers), and the performance of schools.

Exam Coverage:

The three-day MELE covered a wide range of Mining Engineering subjects:

Mining Engineering I (35%) - Mineral prospecting, exploration, sampling, ore reserve estimation, mining methods, mine planning, ventilation, mine safety, rock mechanics, and applied mathematics.
Mining Engineering II (35%) - Mineral economics, mine evaluation, feasibility studies, mine management, computer applications, mine surveying, mining law, and ethics.
Mining Engineering III (30%) - General geology, mineralogy, petrology, economic geology, structural geology, principles of metallurgy, mineral processing, assaying, applied mathematics, and ecology.

Registration and Oathtaking (to be announced later):

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done online at [invalid URL removed].
Specific registration dates will be announced by the PRC.

Verification of Ratings:

You can verify your ratings online through PRC's verification of rating page a few days after the results are released.

Previous Exam Results (for reference):

August 2023: Results released in 1 working day, with 242 out of 351 passing.
August-September 2022: Results released in 3 working days, with 253 out of 389 passing.
August 2021: Results released in 3 working days, with 206 out of 274 passing.
August 2019 (pre-pandemic): Results released in 1 working day, with 310 out of 375 passing.
August 2018: Results released in 1 working day, with 282 out of 326 passing.
